Employers and Third Party Agents Account Activation - Unemployment Insurance Modernization

What Information do Employers need to activate their account?
Employers who already have a UI Employer Account number can activate their account on the Employer BEACON website.

When activating your account, Employers will need to provide their UI Employer Account number and the amount of the Employer’s most recent payment to the Division of Unemployment Insurance (DUI) or the Employer’s most recently reported gross wages.

Please note, if you are an Employer who has a UI Employer Account number but who hasn’t reported gross wages or who hasn’t made a recent payment to DUI, you will be receiving additional correspondence from DUI in the coming days with alternative account activation instructions.

New Employers who do not have a UI Employer Account number can apply for a UI Employer Account number on the Maryland Comptroller's website.

You will only have to activate your account once. When you logon to BEACON for the first time, you will need to create a username, password, and three (3) security questions. This process creates an administrator account for your associated employer account number. Once you create an administrator account, you will have the ability to create additional users to manage your DUI employer account.

What Information do Agents need to activate their account?
Agents can activate their Agent account on the Agent BEACON website.

To activate your account, Agents will need to enter the Agent ID that has been provided bythe Division of Unemployment Insurance (DUI) in a previous correspondence. Agents will also need to provide the Employer Account ID of one of your client accounts and the amount of that employer’s most recent payment to DUI or most recently reported gross wages.

You will only have to activate your account once. When you logon to BEACON for the first time, you will need to create a username, password, and three (3) security questions. This will create an administrator account for your employer account number. Once you create an administrator account, you will be able to create additional users with access to manage the DUI employer account.
