Firm Permit - License - Maryland Board for Professional Engineers

At the present time, the Maryland Board for Professional Engineers does not require an engineering firm to have a firm permit or certificate of authorization issued by the Board in order to practice engineering through a firm. However, if you are using the word "engineering", "engineer" or otherwise in your business name or by description of services, you should have a licensed professional engineer on staff who would be in responsible charge of engineering practiced through the firm.
